About Me

Hello and welcome to The Art of English! My name is Lisa, and I am a qualified UK teacher and former Primary School senior leader. With over 15 years of experience in the British education system, I am passionate about helping both adults and children master the English language with absolute confidence.

My teaching journey has brought me from teaching in schools in the United Kingdom, to offering professional English as an Additional Language (EAL) lessons online worldwide and face-to-face in central France (La Creuse).

I have experience teaching students of all ages across Nursery, Primary, Secondary, and Special Educational Needs (SEND) settings. I love helping others learn and have led important school subjects including French, Phonics, and Reading. As a senior leader, I also trained and mentored school staff to teach high quality lessons, manage classroom behaviour and support students with different learning needs.

• School Leadership: As a former member of a school senior leadership team in the UK, I understand how to design excellent educational courses and measure student progress effectively.

• SEND Expertise: I am highly experienced in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). I specialise in providing neurodivergent-affirming English lessons tailored for ADHD and ASC, focusing on calm, stress-free, and adaptive learning. 

• Phonics Mastery: I use proven UK phonics methods to help beginners of all ages connect letters to sounds, drastically improving reading, spelling, and British pronunciation.

• Business English: I coach ambitious professionals to excel in the workplace by mastering business emails, presentations, job interviews, and international networking.

• TEFL Certified: To complement my classroom teaching background, I hold a Level 3 TEFL qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), which is fully recognised for professional language instruction. I studied for this certification specifically to ensure my online and face-to-face business methods use the absolute best modern practices for non-native speakers.
